I love living in my old house with a tin roof. This song was created after I had insomnia one night, and was fortunate enough to have a beautiful rain melody playing on the roof of our attic.
I used a thumb piano, marimba, and two tracks of cello to recreate the song that nature gifted to me that long night. The uneven tempo is meant to portray the random rhythm of the raindrops.
In the heat of August I was thrilled to watch a rainstorm blow through our valley last night, once again reminding me of the value of rain to nurture, replenish, and make life fresh again.
Rain is essential to life, just as difficult times and situations help us grow and find new perspective. I can find my harmony in the rain, can you?

I’ve always been drawn to rain songs, from Chopin’s Raindrop Sonata to Sara Bareilles’ new hit Let the Rain, so it is with special appreciation that I hear your interpretation of rain, rain, rain. This is absolutely beautiful! Can’t wait to hear more!
Jennifer (who even snuck ‘Rain’ into the name of my business!)
I love this song! Rain is beautiful. You recreate the feeling well. The sound of rain on a tin roof lowers my blood pressure somehow and I have precisely the same response to this song, wonderful. Congratulations on recording and offer your songs, it’s been a long time coming!
oooo lovely! And lovely backyard! I love listening to the rain too. Nothing more relaxing.
Jen! Love your samples and can’t wait for your CD release. Inspire is very aptly named & the Chinese sound to rain.
